The Dead Fuckers Remeberance RUN
Appropriately for this memorial Run, we met at the Crematorium for a short memorial service conducted by our RA Coloic Irrigation. Stiffany had provided framed photos of our dearly departed ...of whom there were many - Lanka Wanker, Limp Toed sloth, Fender bender, Elephant Arse, Nipper, Sir Roy Rodgers, Trigger, Veuve Clitot, Daffy Dildo, Tweatsky Pie and Ash. Some of our four legged friends were also remembered – Jack (of the one eye), bandy (turd on a rope, and most recently Blue (scourge of chickens, turtles and pretty much anything else that could be eaten.)
Afterwards we drove in convoy to the run site, which was about 2k away in the campo behind Las Chapas. At this point we were joined by a few others who had avoided the ceremony, making twenty people in all … a rather poor turn out for a special run that the hares had, as always, put in a lot of effort for.
Rob the Knob brought along two of his friends (like he was tryin to prove he'd got some!) and they were duly brought into the opening circle for their “test”.
Then we were off ...over the open, rolling hills that characterise this area. It was around an hour to the first beer stop, a good length for the first half. Here we were treated to a roscon del reyes cake (at least that's what I think int was) to celebrate the coming of the Three Kings, later that evening. And then it was off to a carva stop. This was ideal hashing country, small tracks over open campo. As we approached the second stop we went onto the race course … a nice bit of virgin territory!
Back at the circle, which we managed to have mostly in the sunshine, there were the ususal down downs and only one anniversario – Sandpaper Sally received her 25 run badge. The hares were awarded a creditable 8.9. During the scoring Salmonella Rushdie made what I felt was a valid point … If nearly all runs are awarded high marks, how is it possible to differntiate between good and bad runs?
The On On was at El Tapeito and was an order what you want and pay for it all separately. Cheap prices but expensive wine … around twice the price of the (very cheap) meals.
