Hash Narrative: The “Streaky Has Already Gone Hash”

This run, intended as “Streaky's Farewell Run” before she left for Australia, had been delayed for several weeks because one of the hares, Sir Flakey, had tested positive for covid 19. However we were able to contact her on the phone during the circle.

It began just beyond the motorway bridge above the El Coto urbanisation. It was a well marked run that had clearly involved a deal of reccying. In fact the hares explained that on several occassions they had got lost and needed to consult Google Maps to find out where they were and in which direction to go.

At 9.1k it was a good length. There were several stretches of “jungle”, or at least bamboo covered river beds where it was necessary to crouch low and on one occassion actually use a rope to climb up out of the arroyo. A nice touch!

At the beer stop, with Streaky being Danish, the hares had organised Danish curry pastries and pate … very tasty! And also a bottle of aqua vit Danish spirit. Running after all that was pretty well next to impossible!

The circle was held directly next to the cars in the garden of a couple of our hashers, Messy Farty and Frilly Knickers.

The on on was at the “Palace of India” on the roundabout in El Coto and was the usual excellent meal.
