Hash Narrative:
After 8 weeks of lockdown we were promised a trip around the world. The hares, Justin and Lip Service, did not disappoint.
23 Hashers showed up ready to go. There followed a brief training session on the chat feature in Zoom with which hashers were to answer questions as the run progressed.
We started in African jungle then followed lion trails in hilly terrain through Zanzibar on into central southern Africa and down to the Victoria falls. Our trail then veered over to the Indian Ocean which we crossed to Easter Island before returning to Africa and a rare sighting of at least 10 elephants.
There followed a spectacular close up encounter with a carnivorous short-bodied, tailless amphibian. Very rare indeed.
Moving on we moved up from the Indian plains into the Himalayas crossing five countries into the fifth largest desert in the world.
Despite breakneck pace our hares maintained a running commentary throughout with musical interludes and a beer stop near a well known criminal haunt on the Costa del Sol. Our tour continued despite frantic attempts by Just In to pause at the beer stop. Sadly he was unable to contact tech support and the tour kept rolling.
Our route continued up into the Swiss Alps then gently down to the shores of Lake Lucerne and on home. A whirlwind tour tour much appreciated by all hashers. A score of 8.9 did not do justice to this spectacular run.
With the circle and religious admonitions completed the hares released their quiz results. Perhaps not surprisingly our well travelled assistant GM Sir Flakey, sporting a new beard, received top marks.
